You say your Friday would be made if another Xiu Xiu video was released? Preferably from their last album, Angel Guts: Red Classroom, and entirely shot in crusty black and white? Thank god we have one for "Archie's Fades" that you can peep at then. Directed by Marty Marquez, the video takes Lynchian turns as the camera follows a stranger with many masks.
Pillar Point's very first music video was released today on Noisey, and we couldn't be more proud. The "Dreamin'" music video features a contortionist dancing through the streaming crowds of New York City, and then moves to gorgeous shots of ballet and breakdancing in a snowy countryside. Noisey calls it a "playful and beautifully shot video [that] perfectly compliments the dreamy, synth-driven track". Watch the video above, or watch it on Noisey to see what else they have to say.
If you like what you hear and you haven't had a chance yet, you can listen to and purchase their self-titled debut album at our E-store.
Listen up international fans! This Friday Deerhoof will embark on yet another European tour. Catch the lovable and chaotic band at any of the shows shown below in March, and mosey over to our tour page to buy tix.

It's pretty obvious that Record Store Day is our favorite holiday...we're a record label after all! This year the festivities are going down on April 19th, and we've got 6 amazing releases to tickle your RSD fancy! Let's have a look shall we?
1. of Montreal - Satanic Panic in the Attic 10 Year Anniversary Reissue
Featuring favorites such as “Disconnect the Dots,” “Lysergic Bliss,” and “Chrissy Kiss the Corpse,” of Montreal’s breakthrough album Satanic Panic in the Attic marked a slight departure from the band’s previous sound due to influences ranging from 1970’s Afro beat to 80’s New Wave.
To celebrate this beloved record’s 10-year anniversary, Satanic Panic in the Attic has been re-mastered for vinyl and is being pressed on 180-gram yellow & light blue wax (limited to 2,000) with a second disc featuring seven additional tracks recorded during the same era. This deluxe double LP re-issue comes packaged in a gatefold jacket that restores the interior artwork to its original full-color design.
If you're unfamiliar with Satanic Panic in the Attic, take a listen to the entire album above!
2. of Montreal - Jigsaw Puzzle 7"
On their latest full-length Lousy with Sylvianbriar, of Montreal adopted a new songwriting approach (writing retreat in San Francisco), a different recording method (direct to 24-track tape machine), and a fresh group of musicians. Inspired by Dylan, the Stones, Neil Young, and more, Paste declared the record “[a] stunning re-imagining of Barnes' songwriting prowess.”
“Jigsaw Puzzle” was recorded during the same sessions that produced Lousy with Sylvianbriar and is now available as a limited edition 7" for Record Store Day 2014 (limited to 1,500 on light green vinyl). An alternate version of Lousy with Sylvianbriar track “Triumph of Disintegration” is featured on the B-side.
3. Xiu Xiu - Unclouded Sky
During the summer of 2013, Xiu Xiu frontman Jamie Stewart and producer Shahzad Ismaily traveled to Sigur Rós’s personal studio in Iceland. Having access to the space for only one day, Stewart worked on setting down his interpretations of American and Caribbean spirituals using a 1953 Silvertone guitar given to him by his father (producer Michael Stewart), the man who introduced him to religious thought and folk music.
The resulting album, Unclouded Sky, explores themes of death and faith over the course of nine songs originally composed between 1850 and 1920, which are interspersed with field recordings Stewart made in the jungle of Guyana.
Unclouded Sky will be available on 180-gram "cloud colored" vinyl (limited to 1,000). Stream the album's title track above or visit FADER.
4. The Dodos - Yours Truly Session 7"
In the fall of 2013, San Francisco-based duo The Dodos reconvened at John Vanderslice’s Tiny Telephone studio (where they recorded their latest full-length Carrier) to re-visit two songs in collaboration with the Magik*Magik Orchestra. Featuring beautiful new arrangements, these special performances of “Substance” and “The Ocean” were captured on film by music website Yours Truly and are now available on yellow vinyl (limited to 1,000) for the first time via this one-time pressing.
5. Saturday Looks Good To Me - Love Will Find You
Love Will Find You was originally released in 2002, but it's never been available on vinyl through retail stores...until now! This classic SLGTM title will now be available on red vinyl (limited to 500) with hand silkscreened jackets from the original artwork.
6. Saturday Looks Good To Me - Saturday Looks Good To Me
Saturday Looks Good To Me's self-released debut album from 2000 was a lo-fi four track take on reinterpreting Motown and oldies radio through a murky crust of noise.
Though the recording finds the project in it's most experimental larval stages, the sparkle and excitement of these earliest basement incantations comes through loud and clear, and many of the songs here became fan favorites as the band grew. The album will now be available for the first time on vinyl through retail stores as an expanded 14-song edition on blue vinyl w/ hand silkscreened jackets from the original artwork (limited to 500). Owls has released another single off of their long-awaited (we mean 13 years long) upcoming album Two, and it couldn't have come soon enough. Their second single debuted on Pitchfork where they talk about the song's "punk-funk" and "newly lacerating self- and social critique."
Also in the works is Owls' album release show on 5/16 at Subterranean in Chicago. Be sure to make the trek out if you're in the area! Tickets go on sale this Friday (3/7).

SPIN says frontman Scott Reitherman's (formerly from Throw Me The Statue) "...calming vocals and glistening production puts [Pillar Point] in a class with Active Child and Superhumanoids - new romantics whose approach to songcraft is as heartfelt as it is carefully composed."
Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin are lookin' out for all your girlfriends this Valentine's Day. The Music Ninja just debuted their new "Nightwater Girlfriend Remix," which has a bit more dance flavor than the original. Check it out above or visit The Music Ninja HERE.

Happy release day to XIU XIU! Their amazing new album, Angel Guts: Red Classroom, is officially out today and available everywhere. The limited edition clear red vinyl is already sold out in our E-store, but we still have regular clear vinyl available + CDs, cassette, and digital. You can also grab the album on iTunes / Amazon MP3 / Spotify / Rdio / Bandcamp.
We're not the only ones who think Angel Guts is one of Xiu Xiu's best albums yet. David Hartley (Nightlands, The War on Drugs) wrote an amazing review on The Talkhouse which describes the album perfectly.
"Clearly this isn't The Sounds of Silence, but it's not Metal Machine Music either. The album wants to be listened to; the songs are short and the hooks are there, albeit unconventionally. It also sounds really good. The panning is aggressive; it has a super-widescreen stereo image, making it an interesting headphone listen. I also love the low end, even if I can't tell exactly where it's coming from. It's a fairly heavily compressed record, but necessarily so — had Xiu Xiu leader Stewart and producer John Congleton opted for a lo-fi, distant approach, the record would have washed over me unnoticed. It's also compositionally dynamic and Stewart uses space like someone with a dozen or so records under his belt; you never get the impression that synths or guitars were ever blindly overdubbed out of habit." The new Xiu Xiu album, Angel Guts: Red Classroom, comes out tomorrow, but the band didn't want you to wait that long for something new. Stereogum just debuted the band's new video for "Stupid in the Dark," which features Angela Seo participating in some pretty horrific behavior. I don't usually have nightmares while working at PV...but I just might today. Watch it above or on StereogumHERE.
