As reported on Pitchfork today, Deerhoof vs. Evil documents the musical "coming of age" for the band and features songs that combine intricate rhythms and abrupt melodies that are instantly engaging. Right from "Qui Dorm, Només Somia" (sung in Catalan), it's evident that Deerhoof aren't afraid to take chances. Recorded, mixed, and mastered in practices spaces and basements with no engineers or outside input, Deerhoof have created a blissfully exuberant album while leaving behind all notions of what a "Deerhoof record sounds like."
