Earlier this week, 13 musicians drawn from both Joan of Arc and the Lightbox Orchestra came together at Chicago's Hideout as the Joan of Arc Lightbox Orchestra. The Lightbox Orchestra is improvisational cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm's group of musicians who take improv cues from a pre-assigned lightbulb box, directed by Lonberg-Holm. All 13 members followed Lonberg-Holm's cues via the aforementioned Lightbox and hand-made signs, and played an entirely improvised set. Click the link below for a play-by-play account of the event.
