The good reviews for Two Thousand And Ten Injuries just don't wanna stop! The latest issue of Filter has an excellent review of the album that's worth checking out. "Vocalist Josephine Olausson keeps the proceedings filled with blistering energy thanks to her mixture of coy and "I'm being chased by scary things" exasperation." AWESOME. Click the link below to check it out.
Two Thousand And Ten Injuries is almost out and it's getting tons of praise! SPIN just posted a great 4/5 star review calling the album "a fizzy, exhilarating hybrid of bubblegum pop and bratty punk." Check out the review by clicking the link below.
Thursday's are good days for AWESOME release announcements right? I'd say so, because we're hitting you with something new from Japandroids - No Singles, out May 11th.
Before their critically acclaimed full-length Post-Nothing, Japandroids released two 5-song EPs (All Lies and Lullaby Death Jams) on good ole CD-Rs. The EPs were limited to 500 copies and quickly sold out. No Singles compiles these two EPs into one album.
With beautiful packaging designed by the band along with a 11" x 11" 32-page booklet featuring rare photos and fliers detailing the band's early history, No Singles illustrates how Japandroids would go on to land spots on over 30 year-end lists for 2009.
No Singles was mastered by John Golden (The Melvins, Nirvana) and will be available on CD+MP3 and LP+MP3 (deluxe double gatefold,180-gram black or white). All orders will include an instant digital download code on ship date, 4/30, so you can have the music while you wait for your record to arrive! Follow the links below to pre-order your copy and to see what Pitchfork and Exclaim have to say about the release announcement. Hide More

Love Is All's Josephine Olausson was featured in Under The Radar's latest "Self-Portrait" section with an exclusive photo along with a few things that make Olausson who she is - like her obsession with Mario Bros. and making her own tortillas. Under The Radar also gave a great review of Love Is All's upcoming album, Two Thousand And Ten Injuries. Check out the review and "Self-Portrait" feature by clicking the links below.

It's release day again here at Polyvinyl and we couldn't be more excited for the brand new Aloha album, Home Acres. It's been a long time since the last Aloha full-length (4 years!) and the band's latest offering definitely does not disappoint. The album is available on BEAUTIFUL maroon-colored vinyl (looks like wood) + MP3, along with deluxe CD + MP3. Both CD and LP come with a free sticker and button, but the LP also comes with a 12" x 24" poster! Click the link below to purchase your copy.
Home Acres has already been getting tons of love from the music world and has been reviewed in places like SPIN, Alternative Press, Giant Robot, Alarm Press and more. There's even a great feature on AOL Spinner (this week only) where you can stream the entire album, along with a few great contests. In celebration of Joan of Arc Presents: Don't Mind Control's release, Tim Kinsella has agreed to give a little insight into each artist featured on the compilation. This month, Tim talks about Litesalive. So without further adieu, here's the first installment of "Who I Hang With."
"Litesalive is my room-mate Todd, so I hear these strange gurglings and rumblings coming from the back of the apartment all the time and it's an interesting way to hear music - hearing it before it finds its form or has been fixed into any kind of narrative that anyone outside the experience of the person making it could recognize or understand. So this song's ultimate accomplishment to me is structural, as I already have a frequent proximity to Todd's tonal exercises. As a guitarist Todd has always perplexed plenty of
us that play with him and I've always been excited by how he does that. So it's really thrilling for me to hear what becomes of this sensibility when its palette gets expanded."
Great news! Japandroids' Post-Nothing was nominated for the JUNO Awards "Best Alternative Album" category! CONGRATULATIONS GUYS! To see the other nominees, click the link below!
Our Norwegian analog-only friends, Casiokids, just got a great write-up in the "Pleased To Meet You" section in the latest issue of Under The Radar. Frontman Ketil Kinden Endresen talks about how the band started and what's in store for 2010. Check it out by clicking the link below.
What a way to end the work day with a SWEET Aloha interview. Am I right? Tony Cavallario got a chance to chat with Reax Music about the new Aloha album, Home Acres, and how it was made using a private blog. Check it out by clicking the link below.
Japandroids have been busy cruising through Europe lately, performing at a bunch of places they've never been before. We're VERY VERY proud to announce that Norway's Casiokids have signed with Polyvinyl! We'll be putting out their upcoming compilation Topp stemning på lokal bar in North America on June 8th. It's the first Norwegian-language pop music ever to be released in the U.S!
Hailing from the same Bergen scene that made up Datarock and Annie, Casiokids were named after their trademark use of beatup, old analog Casios. Their intention? To make electronic music more visual with their theatric live show, which incorporates a blend of shadow puppets, video projections and animal costumes. Whether it's playing a 12-date tour for Norwegian kindergarteners, or their current tour with Hot Chip, Casiokids are sure to leave whatever age group they come across pleased.
The songs on Topp stemning på lokal bar were previously distributed in Europe via Moshi Moshi, both as part of the label’s renowned Singles Club and as a series of double A-sided 7"s. For this debut US release, all eight tracks have been re-mastered and are accompanied by a bonus disc of new material (including six remixes and two covers). Topp stemning på lokal bar will be available on CD/2xLP + MP3. The CD includes a bonus remixes disc and the 180-gram LP includes a bonus 12". To pre-order your copy, follow the link below. Hide More
You know when you wake up each morning and you just NEED some coffee or else your day will suck? Well, Headlights are like that with touring. They're addicted! They just started their second tour in support of their latest album, Wildlife. Today's a great day to head over to Stereogum, because they just debuted the brand new Love Is All video for the first single "Kungen." "Kungen" appears on the band's upcoming album Two Thousand And Ten Injuries. To check out the video and pre-order the album, follow the links below.
