Polyvinyl Announces 20 Year Anniversary
Posted 09/15/2016

Holy cow! Hard to believe that we started doing this in 1996…and here we are, 20 years and more than 300 records later!

We are turning 20 this fall and we’re doing some fun things to celebrate.
1. Polyvinyl Plays Polyvinyl - We asked 20 Polyvinyl artists to record a song by another Polyvinyl artist — a request that led to a slew of beloved tracks being re-imagined in a variety of news and surprising ways.
Hear covers from Owen, Beach Slang, The Dodos, and Deerhoof (in the style of White Reaper) below:
Pre-order the compilation on Early Bird Edition 180-Gram teal / pink / green starburst 2xLP (limited to 750) and receive the full album download instantly! Polyvinyl Plays Polyvinyl comes out officially on 11/25.
2. Polyvinyl x Jesse LeDoux collaboration - For the imagery surrounding PV20, we collaborated with our friend and acclaimed illustrator, Jesse LeDoux.
Jesse drew inspiration from two decades of releases, cleverly recreating imagery from 20 PV albums in his signature illustrative style to create the "POLYVINYL 20" drawing.
There’s a Polyvinyl 20 18” x 24” 5 color hand Silkscreened Poster limited to 100, numbered and signed by Jesse LeDoux.
There’s also a 5-color Polyvinyl 20 T-shirt printed on American Apparel 50/50 Heather Black tees.
Pre-order Polyvinyl 20 merch.
3. Polyvinyl x Girl skateboard collaboration
Skateboarding’s independent and self-expressive spirit is so deeply woven into Polyvinyl’s culture that without the inspiration of skateboarding and skate culture, Polyvinyl would have never existed. We collaborated with our friends at Girl to create the first ever Polyvinyl deck!
Pre-order the Polyvinyl x Girl Skateboard.
4. Polyvinyl 20 Sampler
The Polyvinyl staff curated a 44-song digital compilation, drawing from throughout our entire catalog.
Download it for free and stream it on Spotify.
