Anamanaguchi – the band comprised of Peter Berkman (guitar/vocals), Ary Warnaar (guitar/vocals), James DeVito (bass/vocals), and Luke Silas (drums/vocals) – have shared "Darcie," the first single/music video from their new album, Anyway (out August 8).

Directed by Jared Raab, this new video is the perfect entry point to the band's new chapter. Watch below and pre-order your copy on limited edition Red w/ Black, White, Yellow Splatter vinyl today.

The power-pop ballad finds inspiration in small gestures from a local unsung hero, our very own label co-founder Darcie Lunsford,  who brightens their lives and allows unforeseen amounts of fun to happen.

"It's a thank you song. You might have somebody in your life that makes it their business to make things better for you, and a lot of times those people go unnoticed because they’re not doing it to be noticed. It’s easy to pay attention to people that make you mad–but it’s more rewarding to hype up the people that make you happy. It’s cool that we get to have songs that are about things now.” - Peter Berkman

Last summer, after living across the country from each other for several years, the four members of Anamanaguchi decided to try something new...

After renovation on the American Football House was complete, the band took the opportunity to move in and write together. “Crazy sounds come from normal-looking houses,“ notes Peter Berkman. “We made the decision to be physically in the same room for nearly every step, writing everything as a group instead of editing and tweaking files over the internet.”

For their third album, the pioneers of chiptune – whose extraordinary ascent led them to topping charts with the virtual pop star, Hatsune Miku – flipped their typically meticulous digital process on its head, and wrote their first rock record in a converted living room-turned-practice space.
