Anamanguchi have released their pivotal new album, Anyway. 

For a band that has crafted music across the digital realm while living across the country, getting together and recording in one space felt fairly radical. What sounds could they create in tandem? What would it feel like to build something in real time, with no lag from uploading or downloading? 

The result? The pioneers of chiptune crafted their first rock record.

At first, Anamanaguchi aimed to explore rage as the record's main theme, reflecting the various frustrations of the world. But quickly they found themselves distracted by having fun together, and Anyway instead captures a band creatively and personally energized: the experience of four best friends reviving their connection in a disconnected world.

As Anamanaguchi has always been an instrumental band, the decision to sing suddenly confronted them with the question of what the band’s voice would ultimately be. They explore this newfound power in every song, making it their most emotionally resonant work yet. 

To celebrate the release of this communal effort, Anamanguchi are returning to the house where it was made (namely the American Football House) to host a livestream in the very rooms where they wrote the album.
