A remix is always an exciting opportunity. What will this new take bring to the original? Will it turn it on its head? Will it bring something totally new to the table? In the case of Plato III's "I Want Money (Remix)" it almost feels like someone overhearing the conversation you're having across the bar and pulling up a chair to dig in.

On the remix, McKinley Dixon and Kyle Bethel join Plato III over the bouncy groove exchanging bars that pull from memes (in particular Kyle's viral 2024 track "City of Demons")
"Beyond the meme, Kyle was spitting: ‘Senseless violence. Really so many reasons... financial reasons…’ It reminded me of the Lupe Fiasco line referencing what was maybe the internet’s first meme. (ed: "Sneak that message to the masses, you can call me Chocolate Rain" from the track "Yoga Flame") - says Plato III's Ryan Silva
"Kyle was tapping into the wealth-inequality zeitgeist I was getting at in my single, “I Want (Money),” so I asked him to hop on the remix. Then I figured I might as well turn it into a proper posse cut. There aren’t many rappers saying much these days, so I was happy to get McKinley Dixon, one of rap’s most celebrated storytellers of the decade, to kick things off. The outcome is a remix that trades the subtlety of the original for a punchier statement of desperation, without losing the funk."
Always hard at work, Plato's Grown era continues to take shape. Be on the lookout for more upcoming collabs, including Open Mike Eagle and ELUCID!
